The struggle to have instant gratification is so intense in our society. Our culture teaches that life is about getting what you want and enjoying it, that is the meaning of life. Then, if that doesn't work you must donate millions to charity and take photographs with the masses that you have assisted and if this fails to make you happy, what are we to do? I find myself falling in the category of instant gratification so often or maybe pray about it on Monday and expect results Tuesday. I want it now!! NOT TOMORROW! Genesis 1:26-28 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."Excerpt from Praying the Names of God by Ann Spangler
"A mighty God could have created a world quite different from the one we know. It could have had perpetually dark skies, grass that hurt to walk on, dogs that couldn't be housebroken, and people incapable of love."
"So often we miss life's beauty because we are preoccupied by it's flaws. Instead of taking of our shoes to feel the feathery soft grass beneath our feet, we complain that it's growing so fast we don't have time to mow it....."So often I take for granted how God has provided what I need for today. Let us all take a step back to relish in the life God wants us to live TODAY.
